A SeaofSkills Multiplier Event was run in Barcelona on 30th November 2016. The event was organised by the Spanish Consortium Member Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas-CSIC and was held at the “Instituto de Ciencias del Mar” (CSIC-ICM). The opening speech of the event was delivered by the Deputy Director of Fisheries of the Catalan Government. The event included two distinct phases: firstly, a plenary session in which Erasmus+ SeaofSkills project was explained in detail, followed by a round table composed by the representatives of the fishing training sector, the Spanish Mediterranean regional governments and the State. The round table was open to the audience and was comprised by different stakeholders with the main purpose to discuss on the current state of the fishing training in Spain and possibilities of improvement, and gathered the different opinions about the fishing sector training for small scale fishing that will be utilized within the framework of the SeaofSkills project that is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.
